SHOOT-MOVE-SURVIVE

Our May class

May’s SHOOT-MOVE-SURVIVE course was another huge success. We had 14 people attend the course who all had a great time. We introduced a new “Survival Lane” which incorporated a walk through showcasing several man-made shelters, traps & snares, different methods of fire starting, and how to collect water in the desert. All participants successfully navigated the Land Navigation Course and made it back to camp before supper time. After dinner, they received one of the best Situational Awareness classes available, from a true expert that has immense experience traveling abroad in High Threat areas.

Day 2 started off following up on the previous night’s Situational Awareness class. Always be aware of your surroundings and avoid any type of confrontation; but it is not always possible. They spent the morning learning military style “Combatives”: highly effective self-defense techniques that can save yourself and/or loved ones from a potentially life-threatening encounter. TEAM TORN teaches ONLY the most effective and easily learned techniques that have the highest probability of getting you out of a dangerous situation.

The rest of the day consisted of off-road training and a trail ride with both DirtBikes and Side-x-Sides. Later in the evening the group enjoyed the sunset at the natural Hot Springs to help relax from the last two day’s events.

Day 3 was the SHOOT part of the weekend with a full day of training and familiarization with an assortment of different pistols and rifles (including several Russian AKS’s and SKS’s).  We concluded the day with a long-range shoot from the shooting deck, challenging their ability to shoot out to over 600m.

A big thank you to our Land Navigation extraordinaire “Philo” and our weekend chef, Barb; you both made the event that much better! Thank you.
