Motorcycle Safety Foundation- DirtBike School
Closed Range Exercises (CRE)—A one-day class for people who want to learn how to ride and understand the characteristics of an off-road motorcycle. There is no formal classroom segment—all activities are conducted primarily on a dirt course. Dirt bikes are available for rent for an additional fee. Upon course completion, the student will be submitted to MSF for a certification certificate.
Prerequisites: Ability to ride a bicycle. Cost $125
Introduction to Trail Riding (ITR)- An extension of the DirtBike Closed Range Exercises, this half-day class uses existing trails to provide learning experiences regarding proper dirt bike operation. Instruction stresses use of proper judgement to ensure skills are adequate for select environments. Participants are encouraged to provide their own safe dirt bike. However, dirt bikes are available to rent for an additional fee. Upon course completion, the student will be submitted to MSF for a certification certificate.
Prerequisites: Completion of DirtBike Closed Range Exercises. Cost $250
Recreational Off-Highway Vehicle Association
Basic Driver Course– Provides current and experienced Recreational Off-Highway Vehicle (ROV) users a training opportunity to learn and practice basic skills and techniques. It addresses basic operation and emphasizes safety awareness related specifically to ROV operation. The overall aim of the RBDC is to provide driver development in areas of skill and risk-management strategies. This includes learning experiences to foster driver gains in basic knowledge, skill, attitude, values, and habits.
Participants are encouraged to bring their own UTV. Can-Am Side-x-Sides are available to rent for an additional fee. Upon course completion, the student will be submitted to the Recreational Off-Highway Vehicle Assoc for a certification certificate.
Prerequisites: Driver must be at least 16 years of age and hold a valid driver license. Driver must also have completed the ROV E-Course online prior to taking the ROV Basic Driver Course. Cost $175
An Off-Road motorcycle or SxS Adventure
If you are already a proficient dirtbike rider or SxS driver and just want to get out and experience the awesome trails and terrain this area has to offer, let us know. We can include an off-road adventure as part of your training, or depending on your experience and skill level, we can head out to meet the challenges that this mountainous desert has to offer. All students must provide and wear the following personal items** for all instruction:
- Helmet
- Goggles
- Over-the-ankle footwear
- Long, non-flare denim pants or material of equivalent or better durability
- Long-sleeved shirt or jacket
- Full-fingered gloves
